In the heart of San José, true luxury is defined by precision and presence. Over the last five years, Eydis Herrera has been quietly perfecting both. At just 28 years old, Eydis has transitioned from a driven entrepreneur into a master craftsman, building a perfect 5-star reputation in one of Costa Rica’s most competitive markets.
But for Eydis, this wasn’t just about business—it was about survival and soul.
The Human Blueprint: A Story of Resilience
Behind the high-end brand was a mother of two fighting for a different life. After leaving a difficult relationship, Eydis found herself at a crossroads. As a bartender, she was trapped in a cycle of grueling hours that left her emotionally exhausted and, most painfully, away from her children.
“I often felt I had to choose between working long hours or being present for my children,” Eydis shares. “I decided to take a different step: to start doing something for me, something I was truly passionate about.”
She began studying at the Embelleze Institute, carving out one day a week to learn the artistry of nail design. The transition from the bar to the studio was filled with doubt, but she moved forward for her family. Her first client, an American woman who believed in her even when her work “wasn’t perfect,” sparked a realization: Eydis had the talent to serve an international, high-end market.
Breaking Through Digital Sabotage
As Eydis’s skill reached an elite level, she hit a “resource wall.” She had the talent and the 80-hour work ethic, but she lacked the digital infrastructure to translate that grit into the prestigious brand she was meant to lead.
Every “Maker” knows that you can only build as high as your foundation allows. Before our collaboration, Eydis had invested her hard-earned capital into a website and booking system that was meant to be her engine for growth. Instead, she was handed a liability.
When Spade Design conducted our initial audit, her digital presence scored a 32 out of 100. It was riddled with technical roadblocks and Google penalties that were actively sabotaging her reach. Eydis was succeeding in spite of her technology—surviving on pure reputation and word-of-mouth. At Spade Design, we saw a young professional who had earned her place at the top and stepped in to provide the Digital Justice she deserved through our Seedwork program.
Engineering the Dual-Language Empire
To move from “local shop” to “national prestige,” we had to rebuild Eydis’s presence from the ground up. We architected a brand and a digital engine designed to serve both the high-end local market and the international expat and digital nomad communities.
-
The Dual-Website Build: We didn’t just translate a site; we built two separate, high-performance engines. One in English at PuraEssenzaNails.com to target her primary demographic and a dedicated version in Spanish. This allows Eydis to dominate SEO patterns for both local Ticos and the influx of international retirees and digital nomads.
-
The WhatsApp Concierge Workflow: Understanding the culture of Costa Rica meant integrating WhatsApp—the lifeblood of local commerce. We engineered a dual-path system that matches local habits with a premium feel, allowing high-end clients to book her services directly via a seamless WhatsApp integration.
-
Operations & Automation: We moved her from manual struggle to a digital powerhouse. Her new Tier 3 system manages everything from studio scheduling and loyalty programs to automated SMS appointment reminders and review marketing.
Launching the Luxury Concierge
With a foundation that finally reflected her five years of excellence, we coached Eydis on the pivot to adding a new service: her Mobile Nail Salon Concierge. She is no longer tethered to a single boutique location; she now brings a premium, bilingual service directly to the most prestigious neighborhoods and residences in San José.
For Eydis, the new website finally mirrors the quality of her touch. “With the new website, I feel everything is aligned with my brand: it’s clearer, more beautiful, and generates more trust,” she says.
A Legacy in Motion
The true measure of this project isn’t found in the code, but in the lifestyle it enables. Eydis is no longer choosing between her career and her kids. Today, she works from home, connects with an international clientele, and—most importantly—is there to take her children to school and watch them grow.
Eydis Herrera provided the spark and five years of relentless grit. Spade Design provided the blueprint. Together, we have built a self-sustaining growth engine that ensures this young powerhouse will continue to dominate the market for years to come.
